Acceptable file formats
Students are encouraged to use Free/Open Source Software (FOSS) for their academic work, including OpenOffice or LibreOffice and their native Open Document Format (.odt Text, .odp Presentations, .ods Spreadsheets).
Note to instructors: Instructors can open ODF files in their own copy of OpenOffice or LibreOffice. Google Documents or MS Office 2010 also handle ODF. .pdf files will also insure exact formatting if any compatibility questions arise.

Naming your files
When saving files, please include the number of the assignment and your last name in the file name. For example, when John Smith is saving Assignment 1 for submission he should name his file "Asgn1_Smith"
